Poem was written and narrated by Nathan Forst Copyright belongs to Nathan Forst Snuffing It It would be so easy to snuff it. This world is a horrible place And I don’t belong. None of us truly belong here. I want to be on a better planet With more interesting people. Better people. I want a planet full of artists And wanderers, Dreamers and thinkers, Peace and love, And a healthy pursuit of knowledge. But we got this place instead. Sure, all that good exists here But we also have Aids and starvation, Despair and depression, Pedophiles and priests, Religious warfare, beheadings, Planes flying into buildings, Massacres and genocides, Cheaters, Liars, Heartbreakers, Spin doctors, propagandists, rapists and politicians. We have a global disease. It is the fundamental breakdown of the human soul. We celebrate selfishness and mock the weak. The rich horde resources And the poor die alone and destitute. Corruption has taken over the human condition. Unfortunately this world is all we have. So, I wake up in the morning and I think about snuffing it. I go to sleep at night and think about suicide. My mind is in a cage And my heart just wants to fly freely. But this is all there is. The ideal world does not exist. My world does not exist. The people that I want are thin and far between. So, I think about snuffing it. But this is all there is, So I don’t.
