if you really want to just spend days and days for mining, make minecart with chests so you can send materials to and from your base…definitely helps

The best way I found to mine for diamonds is to mine a bunch of individual shafts
that looks kinda like this
[]—[]—[]—[]—[]
…………………………………[]—[]—[]—[]
where [] is a 2×1 shaft and each dash is 1 block. (it can be as many shafts as you want)
That way, each block that you mine reveals 4 more, and you shouldn’t miss any diamond veins in a chunk. For the bottom level, your y coordinate should be 12.6 and for the top level 15.6. Hope that helps!
